Oil on wood. 4 x 1 ft.

This painting is a portrait of a friend. She is holding a goblet as a representation of the Tarot cup which holds water. More specifically, this cup holds visions which she will view at the cost of such a responsibility.

With this painting I am expressing my fears of enlightenment, for the abandonment of childlike irresponsibility and carelessness. Revelations of why things happen in my life usually appear in my dreams. When I wake in the morning, I often wonder if I should remember my dreams anymore. Most of them are painful.
